When we consider the records of Jesus, his apostles and the First Century Church in relation to our fellowships and church assemblies of today, there seems to be a dynamic missing. Although we occassionally see a sign, or a miracle, or a wonder in our congregations; typically, it is not to the magnitude of the truimph given in THE GREAT COMMISSIONING.
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Certainly God has not lost His power, nor the Church relieved of its commissioning. If there was ever a time when the true needs of mankind called for the children of God to continue the work begun in Christ, it has to be today.
"As we look at the world around us, it is easy to see that with all of our social advancements and all of our technological breakthroughs, we fall woefully short to address the needs of mankind. The needs of humanity surpass scientific discovery and development, exceed the scope of nature, and reach beyond the helping hands of human kindness. Yet there beats the heart of a loving God who imparts to men and women his power to accomplish the impossible."

The key to this dynamic walk of power is revealed to us in I John 4:16:
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
When the disciples of the First Century knew God loved them and believed God loved them, they began to live like men and women who were beloved of God. When we live like men and women who know and believe the love God hath to us, we will once again parallel the dynamics of the First Century.
